Racing on day two of Singapore Airlines Sail Auckland was delayed due to a lack of wind. The 29er, 49er, 420 & 470 fleets completed one race before their racing was abandoned for the day around 5pm.

The 2.4m class were the most successful on the water today, completing one race in the Okahu Bay area around midday and another one race in the afternoon.
The laser fleet were deployed from Kohimarama Beach around 4pm with a light nor-easterly forecast, but with no consistent breeze the Race Committee were unable to complete a race.

Because of the delayed start the RS:X boards were abandoned for the day at 4.30pm.

2.4m
Andrew May, with two first places, leads his rival Josh McKenzie-Brown in the 2.4m class after two races were completed today. The competitors were pleased to get their racing started but were often racing in difficult 2 – 3knot conditions.

29er
Alexandra Maloney and her crew Sam Bullock still lead the 29er fleet, adding another first place to their already perfect scorecard. The McKenzie brothers Andrew & Sam have jumped one place to second overall after coming third in today’s race and bumping Matthew Spray and Tyler Russell into third place.

Still in second place overall Alex Munro & Luke Stevenson, and holding onto their third place is the Malaysian Sailing Team duo helmed by Mohamad Hafizzudin Mazelan.

49er
No surprises in the 49er class as Olympic contender Peter Burling and his replacement crew Riley Dean hold onto the lead after adding another win to their perfect scorecard over their opposition Marcus Hansen and Andrew Clarke.

470
Yesterdays leaders Mark Overington & Ben Goodwin get bumped into second place overall after coming 8th in today’s race and the Singaporean team helmed by Roy Jun Hao Tay take the lead after their spectacular light airs win. Yachting New Zealand Olympic Squad members Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie added a second to their score and move into third place overall.
